Research indicates that approximately 30% of firefighter deaths and injuries occur when disoriented or lost while inside a structure fire.  If you also include the “loss of air” factor into the equation the chances for survival diminish further.

The LifeCrown® is an exit indicator device placed onto a hoseline male  coupling that serves as a tool to assist firefighters at a critical moment involving life and death.  The LifeCrown® simply snaps over the male coupling and points back to the water source (engine company). 

The LifeCrown® is a tool that emphasizes the concept of “touch and go”.  Most fireground situations do not allow for the use of our visual senses therefore our ability to feel or touch during a moment of disorientation is paramount to survival.
