Concept 

The concept of the LifeCrown® came about by way of personal fireground experience and tragic loss.  The LifeCrown® inventor is a veteran firefighter (Captain) of over 25 years who had the misfortune of personally experiencing the effect of disorientation on the fireground coupled with the loss of air.  The inability to think clearly enough to differentiate male from female coupling rocker lug forced him to leave the hoseline and was fortunate to locate and exit through a window.

It was only after disorientation played a role in the line-of-duty death of a fellow brother firefighter that the idea of the firehose exit indicator was conceived.
